Adjusting Mower Deck Drive Belt Tension (60 in. SD and 60 in. MOD)

  1. Park machine safely. (See Parking Safely in the Safety section.)

  2. Remove belt shields.

    Measure length of belt tension spring (A) from hook to hook. Overall length must be between 22—23 cm (8.6—9 in.) inside hooks.


  4. NOTE: Replace belt if length is less than 20.4 cm (8 in.) inside hooks after adjusting.

    Loosen nut (B).

  5. Adjust sheave (C) until spring is between specified length.

  6. Tighten nut (B).

  7. Install belt shields.
