Replacing Mower Deck Drive Belt (60 in. RD)


Removing Deck Drive Belt

  1. Park machine safely. (See Parking Safely in the SAFETY section.)

  2. Lower mower deck to the lowest cutting height position.

    Remove foot plate.


  4. Remove deck belt shields (A).

  5. CAUTION: Avoid injury! Fingers and hands can be pinched or crushed. Be aware of potential pinch points and keep hands away.

    Remove belt (B) from sheave (C).


  6. CAUTION: Avoid injury! Components are installed under spring tension. Wear eye protection and use proper tools when installing and removing components with spring tension.

    Remove tension spring (D) from mower deck at the frame side.

  7. Remove bolt (G) and remove sheave (H).

  8. Remove bolt (I).

  9. Remove tension bracket (J).

  10. Remove belt.


Belt Installation

  1. Remove belt tensioner.

    Route drive belt (A) around mower deck sheaves as shown but not around sheave (B).


  3. Repeat steps 3 to 10 in opposite order.

NOTE: Be sure sheave (C) is mounted in the utmost backward position.
