Changing Engine Oil and Filter
CAUTION: Avoid injury! Touching hot surfaces can burn skin.
The engine, components, and fluids will be hot if the engine has been
running. Keep hands and body away from hot surfaces when servicing
or working near the engine and components.
IMPORTANT: Avoid damage! Change the oil more often if the vehicle
is used in extreme conditions: • Extremely dusty
conditions.
• Frequent slow or low-speed operation.
• Frequent short trips.

Run engine to warm oil.

Park machine safely. (See Parking Safely in the Safety section).

Put container under drain bolt (A).

Remove drain bolt.

Allow oil to drain into a container with at least 3.6 L (3.8
qt.) capacity.

Install drain bolt.

Open hood.

Remove oil filter (B). Turn filter counter-clockwise to remove.

Apply a film of clean engine oil on gasket of new filter.

Install filter. Turn filter clockwise until gasket makes contact
with mounting surface. Tighten 1/2 to 3/4 turn after gasket contact.

Clean area around the oil fill cap (C) and oil dipstick (D).

Unscrew and remove the oil fill cap.

Add approximately 3.6 L (3.8 qt.) of oil.

Install and tighten oil fill cap.

Close hood.

Start engine and run at slow throttle for approximately two
minutes. Check for leaks around filter and drain plug.

Stop engine.
-
Check engine oil level.
