Use Safety Chain

Avoid injury! To avoid rearward upset, hitch towed loads only to the rear hitch plate. Do not use a safety chain for towing loads.

Avoid damage! Secure the towed load to the rear hitch plate. Safety chains are designed to help control the towed load if it separates from the hitch plate.

Use a chain with a strength rating greater than the gross weight of the towed load.

Replace or repair the safety chain if one or more links or fittings are broken, stretched, or damaged.

   Secure the safety chain around the rear hitch plate (A).

2. Remove the safety chain and store when not in use.
