Safety Interlock System

Starting Engine

For the starter to engage, the following conditions must be met simultaneously:

• Machine must be in the transport mode, PTO switch Off.
• Park brake switch in the On (Engaged) position.
• backlap switches Off, where applicable.

Engine Running

For the engine to continue to run, the following conditions must be avoided:

• If the operator is mowing (machine in the mow mode) and the operator leaves the seat, the engine stops.
• If the operator stops mowing, puts the machine in the transport mode, leaves the seat with drive pedals in neutral, but without the park brake engaged, the engine stops.
• If the operator attempts to drive forward or backward while the park brake is engaged, the engine continues to run. The pedal commands are ignored and the machine does not move.

Cutting Unit Operation

If the machine is in the mow mode, engaging the park brake shuts the cutting units off. Cutting units do not rotate with the park brake engaged.
