Using Electric Power Assist Steering (EPAS)
If there is a malfunction in power assist steering, the EPAS
fault light illuminates.
During normal steering operation, the EPAS fault light remains
off.
The fault light goes off and on during operation indicating
that EPAS has been reduced to protect the system.
If the fault light stays illuminated, and assist levels do not
recover, an ignition switch cycle is required to reset the EPAS fault.
If this condition persists, contact your John Deere dealer to have
the EPAS unit diagnosed.
The EPAS system is speed sensitive. As vehicle speeds increase,
the level of steering assist decreases.
