Changing Mid and Rear Transmission Oil


Mid Transmission

  1. Operate the machine to warm transmission oil.

  2. Park the machine safely. (See Parking Safely in SAFETY.)

  3. Raise and secure cargo box.

  4. Avoid damage! Dirt and debris in oil can cause damage to the transmission. Clean area around opening before removing plug or dipstick.

    Position drain pan under the transmission drain plug (A).



  5. Remove drain plug (A). Allow to drain completely.

  6. Install and tighten drain plug (A) to specification.

    Transmission Drain PlugTorque30-35 N·m (22-26 lb·ft)

    Remove dipstick (B) located near the oil reservoir. Wipe dipstick clean.



  8. Add recommended oil.

    Check oil level. Oil level is low if below line (C). Oil level must be at full line (D).




Rear Transmission

  1. Park the machine safely. (See Parking Safely in SAFETY.)

  2. Avoid damage! Dirt and debris in oil can cause damage to the transmission. Clean area around opening before removing plug or dipstick.

    Fill plug under right rear side.

    Position drain pan under the transmission drain plug (A).



  3. Remove the fill plug (B) on the right side of rear transmission.

  4. Remove transmission drain plug (A) and allow oil to drain through opening in frame (C) and into the drain pan.

  5. Check washer on the drain plug. Replace if missing or in poor condition.

  6. Install and tighten drain plug to specification after all oil has drained.

    Transmission Drain PlugTorque30-35 N·m (22-26 lb·ft)

  7. Add oil until the level is even with the bottom of the fill port.

  8. Install and tighten the fill plug to specification.

    Transmission Fill PlugTorque45-54 N·m (33-40 lb·ft)

  9. Check transmission oil level again after the first several hours of operation.
