Fuel vapors are explosive and flammable:

Do not smoke while handling fuel.

Keep fuel away from flames or sparks.
-
Shut off engine before servicing.
-
Cool engine before servicing.
-
Work in a well-ventilated area.
-
Clean up spilled fuel immediately.
Change filter when fuel is low.
Park machine safely. (See Parking Safely in the SAFETY section.)

Allow engine to cool.
-
Raise hood.

Fuel shut-off valve shown in open position
Close fuel shut-off valve (A).

Put drain pan under fuel filter sediment bowl to catch fuel
spillage.
-
Turn locking collar (B) counterclockwise to remove bowl (C).
-
Remove and discard fuel filter.
-
Remove and retain plastic ring and spring from sediment bowl.
-
Clean bowl, plastic ring and spring.
-
Install plastic ring and spring in original position in sediment
bowl.

Install new filter on filter head.
-
Position sediment bowl and locking collar. Tighten locking collar
to filter head.

Open fuel shut-off valve.
-
Fuel system is self bleeding. Do Not use starter
motor to air bleed fuel system.

Manually prime fuel system with lever (D) on mechanical pump.

Lower hood.
-
Start machine and check for leaks.
