Using Rear Lock
Avoid injury! Driving at high speeds with the rear
lock engaged can result in loss of steering control. Do not turn machine
with the rear lock engaged while operating machine at high speeds
or on slopes.
Rear lock provides better traction when rear wheels start to
slip. Engaging rear lock causes both rear wheels to turn together
at equal speed.
Engaging Rear Lock:
Avoid damage! Incorrectly using rear lock can damage
the transmission. Stop machine before engaging or disengaging
rear lock.
-
Stop or reduce engine
speed to 1/3 throttle or less.
-
Pull 2WD/4WD lever down
to the 4WD + REAR LOCK position:
- Rear lock remains engaged as long as lever is in 4WD +
REAR LOCK.
Disengaging Rear Lock
To ensure true disengagement of the rear lock, torque
on both axles must be equalized.
-
Stop machine travel.
-
Push 2WD/4WD lever up
to center 4WD or top 2WD position.
