Testing the Safety Start System
The engine can start with the transmission in gear. The
machine has a brake pedal safety start switch. The brake pedal must
be pushed down to start the engine.

Sit on the operator’s
seat.

Turn ignition key switch
to STOP position.

Lock park brake.

Move transmission shift
lever to N (Neutral) position.

Turn ignition key switch
to START position. Engine should not crank. Turn ignition key switch
to STOP position.

Push down on brake pedal.

Turn ignition key switch
to START position. Engine should crank, allowing engine to start.

Allow engine to run a
few seconds.

Turn ignition key switch
to STOP position.
