Start Engine

Avoid injury! Engine exhaust fumes contain carbon monoxide and can cause serious illness or death.

Do not run an engine in an enclosed area, such as a garage, even with doors or windows opened.

Move the machine to an outside area before running the engine.

Use a remote fuel supply to start and run engine. See DTAC solution 63832 for instructions on how to build a remote tank. Add a fuel stabilizer, such as John Deere TY27534 Fuel Protect (or equivalent) to all fuel used for PDI. Do not add fuel to the tractor fuel tank!

  1. Check engine oil level. Level should be between the "ADD" and "FULL" marks.

  2. If engine starts slowly, charge the battery.
