Assemble Snowblower


Install Discharge Chute

A - Discharge Chute

B - Clip

C - Self-Tapping Screw, M8x20

  1. Put light coat of John Deere Moly High Temperature EP Grease or an equivalent onto discharge chute base and install discharge chute (A).

  2. Install three large clips (B) with six self-tapping screws (C).

  3. Tighten screws. Chute should rotate freely after tightening.


Install Discharge Chute Cables

    C - Bracket

    Lay cables (A) over attachment shell.



  2. Avoid damage! Hydraulic cylinder plunger must be in the retracted position (all the way in the cylinder) when beginning this procedure.

    Remove black cable shield (B) and bracket (C). Verify that cables are still on pulleys.

  3. Rotate chute right.

    B - Washer

    C - Left Cable

    D - Washer

    Stand behind attachment. Take right cable (A) and wrap around chute counterclockwise.



  5. Use locking pliers and pull cable tight around threaded stud, and behind locknut and washer (B).

  6. Tighten nut.

  7. Wrap left cable (C) around chute clockwise.

  8. Use locking pliers and pull cable tight around threaded stud, and behind locknut and washer (D).

  9. Tighten nut.

  10. Tuck excess ends of cables under cable.

  11. Avoid damage! Make sure that you install the long cap screw through the black cable shield and bracket.

    Install black cable shield and bracket.


Lubricating Drive Shaft

    Lubricate drive shaft grease fittings (A) with John Deere Moly High Temperature EP Grease or an equivalent.



  2. Extend and retract drive shaft to cycle grease across drive shaft. Apply additional grease as needed.


Install Drive Shaft

    A - Woodruff Key

    B - Sprocket Shaft

    Install woodruff key (A) in gearbox shaft grove.



  2. Apply John Deere NEVER-SEEZ lubricant or equivalent on sprocket shaft (B).

  3. Align grove in drive shaft with key on sprocket shaft and push drive shaft on sprocket shaft.

    A - Rolled Pin

    Align holes on sprocket shaft with holes in drive shaft and install rolled pin (A) through both shafts.



  5. Install plastic coated retainer wire through rolled pin and twist both ends of wire together a minimum of three times.


Lubricating Auger Shaft

    A - Grease Fitting

    Locate grease fittings (A).



  2. Lubricate grease fittings with John Deere Moly High Temperature EP Grease or an equivalent.


Install Upstop

    B - Carriage Bolt, M8x25

    Install upstop (A) on attachment and fasten with four carriage bolts (B) and nuts as shown.



  2. Tighten nuts.


Install Tie Strap

    A - Tie Strap

    Install tie strap (A) through hole on right side of attachment.



  2. Fasten hydraulic hoses to attachment housing with tie strap.


Install Drive Shaft Support Rod

    A - Cap Screw, M8x25

    B - Cap Screw, M8x25

    Install cap screw (A) into hole on left side of upstop with nut.



  2. Install cap screw (B) through support rod hole, washer from kit, and hole on right side of upstop with locknut.

    A - Drive Shaft

    B - Support Rod

    Install drive shaft (A) on end of support rod (B).




Install Drift Blade

    Note, shown with second optional drift blade. One included with snowblower.

    A - Drift Blade

    B - Cap Screw, M6x25

    Install drift blade (A) with cap screws and locknuts to outside of attachment housing.



  2. Tighten nuts.
