Checking Hydraulic Hoses and Fluid Level

Avoid injury! Escaping fluid under pressure can penetrate skin and cause serious injury, including gangrene.

  • Relieve pressure before disconnecting hydraulic or other pressurized lines.
  • Use a piece of cardboard to search for leaks. Do not expose hands or body to high pressure fluids.
  • Tighten all connections before applying pressure.

  1. Remove transaxle hydraulic fluid dip stick.

  2. Check fluid level. Add fluid if necessary.

  3. Replace dip stick.

  4. Start engine.

  5. Move hydraulic control levers back and forth to check for leaks.
