Replacing Mower Deck Drive Belt

1. Park machine safely. (See Parking Safely in SAFETY section.)

2. Allow engine and muffler to cool completely.

3. Avoid injury! Components are installed under spring tension. Wear eye protection and use proper tools when installing and removing components with spring tension.

   Remove deck drive belt as follows:

   1. Remove spring from spring hook (A) on deck.

   2. Remove nut (B) on the tension idler pulley and lower bolt to remove guide (C). Remove belt (D) from all sheaves.

4. Inspect belt for wear or damage; replace as necessary.

5. Clean top surface of the mower deck and sheaves.

6. Failure to seat the belt properly on sheaves results in belt damage.

   Install belt on the mower deck and ensure that belt is not twisted after belt is fully routed on drive.

   Make sure belt guide tab (C) is inserted fully into locating feature on tension arm as shown and tighten nut (B) to specification

   Tension idler pulley nut	Torque	54 N·m (40 lb·ft)

8. Install spring on spring hook (A) on deck.
