Avoiding Injury or Death from Rollover Accidents

causym CAUTION: To help prevent personal injury or death caused by rollover accidents when handling round bales:

  • Equip the tractor with a rollover protective structure (ROPS). Wear your seat belt.
  • DO NOT handle bales that exceed bale weight of 450 kg (1000 lb) or a diameter of 1327 mm (54 in.).
  • Be sure tractor tire spacing and rear ballast is correct before using loader.
  • Stop loader gradually when lowering or lifting loads.
  • When handling round bales on a slope, always approach the bale with the tractor facing uphill.
