Attaching Lift-Type or Semi-Mount Cutter to Tractor with Three-Point Hitch

causym CAUTION: To avoid bodily injury or machine damage whenever an implement is attached, put transmission in PARK position and check the full range of hitch for interference, binding, or PTO separation.

Do not stand between tractor and implement.

NOTE: John Deere 7000 Series tractor shown throughout procedure.

1. Turn tractor load/depth control fully counterclockwise (A).

2. Version A-Lift lock pins (B) and extend telescoping draft link ends.

Version B-Slide lock pins (B) and extend telescoping draft link ends.

causym CAUTION: To prevent possible injury, use ONLY hitch control lever (A) when attaching implements. DO NOT use raise/lower switch (B).

3. Back up tractor to cutter with hitch points approximately in alignment.

4. Engage tractor parking brake and/or place transmission in "Park".

5. Shut off tractor engine and remove key.

6. Remove center link mounting hardware (lift-type) and hitch pin assemblies at both hitch masts.

7. Align draft links with hitch masts and install hitch pin assemblies according to tractor hitch category. (See POSITIONING HITCH PINS-LIFT-TYPE or SEMI-MOUNT in Preparing the Cutter section.)

8. Start tractor engine.

9. Carefully back up tractor making sure both left and right telescoping draft link ends lock.

10. Engage tractor parking brake and/or place transmission in "Park".

11. Shut off tractor engine and remove key.

12. Lift-Type; Align center link with cutter pivot plate and install center link mounting hardware.

13. Attach PTO driveline, hydraulic hoses and tail/warning light harness, if equipped. (See procedures in this section.)

14. Start tractor engine.

15. Slowly pull hitch control lever (A) to raise cutter. Check for interference. Lower hitch to ground and adjust center link and/or lift links if necessary. (See procedures in your tractor Operator's manual.)
