Detaching Cutter From Tractor
CAUTION:
To prevent personal injury caused by unexpected movement:
1.
Park machine on a level surface.
2.
Engage tractor parking brake and/or place transmission in "Park".
3.
Disengage PTO.
4.
Shut off tractor engine and remove key.
1.
Park cutter on a level surface, or block tailwheels so machine cannot roll after detaching from the tractor.

2.
Make sure tractor load/depth control is in position (A).
CAUTION:
On 7000 Series John Deere tractors; Push SCV lever lockouts to the right (transport lock) before detaching implements to prevent implement movement and possible personal injury.
3.
If equipped, push tractor SCV lever lockouts (B) to the right (transport lock).

CAUTION:
To prevent possible injury, use ONLY hitch control lever (A) when detaching implements. DO NOT use raise/lower switch (B).
4.
Tractor with Quick Coupler Hitch;
Slowly push hitch control lever (A) to lower cutter close to the ground.
Tractor with Three-Point Hitch;
Slowly push hitch control lever (A) to lower cutter to the ground.
5.
Engage tractor parking brake and/or place transmission in "Park".
6.
Shut off tractor engine and remove key.

7.
If equipped, disconnect tail/warning light harness (A).

CAUTION:
Escaping fluid under pressure can penetrate the skin causing serious injury. Avoid the hazard by relieving pressure before disconnecting hydraulic or other lines. Tighten all connections before applying pressure. Search for leaks with a piece of cardboard. Protect hands and body from high pressure fluids.
If an accident occurs, see a doctor immediately. Any fluid injected into the skin must be surgically removed within a few hours or gangrene may result. Doctors unfamiliar with this type of injury should reference a knowledgeable medical source. Such information is available from Deere & Company Medical Department in Moline, Illinois, U.S.A.
8.
Pull-Type or Semi-Mount;
Push levers (A) down to disconnect hydraulic hose(s) from tractor receptacles.

CAUTION:
Shut off tractor engine before detaching PTO driveline. Entanglement in rotating driveline can cause serious injury or death.
9.
Disconnect PTO driveline shield chain (A).
10.
Raise tractor PTO shield, if equipped.
IMPORTANT:
Do not use bell on driveline to hold driveline in position. Damage to shielding can occur.
11.
Support driveline, cradling it in your hand.
12.
Rotate collar (C) and slide driveline off tractor shaft.
13.
Lower tractor PTO shield, if equipped.

14.
Tractor with Quick Coupler Hitch;
1.
Raise both latch control levers (A) on quick coupler.
2.
Start tractor engine.
3.
Lower cutter to the ground. Continue lowering quick coupler until hooks clear cutter hitch pins.
4.
Carefully drive tractor away.
Tractor with Three-Point Hitch;
1.
Remove hitch pin assemblies from tractor draft links.
2.
Lower tractor draft links.
3.
Reinstall cutter hitch pin assemblies at both hitch masts.
4.
Lift-Type Cutter;
Disconnect center link from pivot plate. Position tractor center link in transport location. Reinstall center link pin/hardware in cutter pivot plate.
5.
Carefully drive tractor away.

Drawbar Hitch;
1.
Move jackstand to location shown. Fasten with L-pin and quick-lock pin. Turn handle to take load off of tractor drawbar.
2.
Disconnect safety chain from tractor.
3.
Remove quick-lock pin and hitch pin.
4.
Carefully drive tractor away.

If cutter will not be used for awhile, perform all procedures as listed in STORING THE CUTTER (END OF SEASON) in Storage section.
