NOTE:
Driveline removed for illustration purposes.

Remove lock nut (B) and washer (C).
11.
Remove tapered pin (A) using a brass drift and hammer.
12.
Remove driveline and pedestal assembly from gear case input shaft.
13.
Make repairs as necessary:

Slip clutch service-(See DISASSEMBLING AND INSPECTING SLIP CLUTCH in this section.)

Driveline repair-(See your John Deere dealer.)
14.
Install drivelines in reverse order of removal using the following special instructions:

Apply multipurpose grease on gear case input shaft and intermediate driveline shaft.

Install tapered pins with tapered part of pin facing groove around input/intermediate shafts. Tighten lock nuts to specifications.
