Operating the Cutter for Best Performance

Operate the cutter at full PTO rated speed.

Slower ground speeds, less than 8 km/h (5 mph), will result in better cut quality.

For best results, cutting height should be as low as possible (less than 100 mm [4 in.]).

For tall material, use a front chain discharge shield, in place of a rubber shield, to allow material to pass through.

For most conditions, adjust the cutter so that skid (wear) shoes are parallel to the ground.

Blades must be sharp. Be sure suction blades are installed for the correct rotation. (See REPLACING BLADES in the Service section.)

Suction blades are recommended for best cut quality and distribution for most applications. Flat blades should only be used for brush or stalky material.
