causym CAUTION: Escaping fluid under pressure can penetrate the skin causing serious injury. Avoid the hazard by relieving pressure before disconnecting hydraulic or other lines. Tighten all connections before applying pressure. Search for leaks with a piece of cardboard. Protect hands and body from high pressure fluids.

If an accident occurs, see a doctor immediately. Any fluid injected into the skin must be surgically removed within a few hours or gangrene may result. Doctors unfamiliar with this type of injury should reference a knowledgeable medical source. Such information is available from Deere & Company Medical Department in Moline, Illinois, U.S.A.

2. Relieve hydraulic pressure for loader lift and bucket circuits or attachment operated with an SCV:

  • 50, 55, 60 and 7000 Series Tractors with SCV or multi-function control lever operated loader; Shut off engine and move loader control lever(s) back and forth and side-to-side (if applicable) several times.
  • 8000 Series Tractors with SCV operated loader; With engine running, move loader control levers to FLOAT, hold for 30 seconds, and shut off engine.
  • 8000 Series Tractors with multi-function control lever operated loader; Shut off engine. Pull down on knob (A) and hold for ten seconds.

Relieve hydraulic pressure for attachment circuit operated with an electrohydraulic valve:

a. Turn key to ON position. Do not start tractor engine.

b. Press switch (B or C) several times.

c. Turn key to OFF position.

causym CAUTION: Help prevent personal injury caused by unexpected loader movement. Hose connections must be correct or loader will not respond as expected when control lever is moved.

IMPORTANT: Before connecting coupler halves make sure that fittings are free of dirt and debris.

NOTE: Hose connections are identified by matching the color-coded cap on the hose end with the same color-coded plug on the coupler. (If caps/plugs are missing, see IDENTIFYING HOSE CONNECTIONS in the Service section.)

3. Connect hydraulics using color-coded dust caps/plugs, identification tags or marks to match mating couplers.
