Grapple opening and closing is controlled by one of three ways:

• Tractor selective control valve (SCV);
  • 8000 Series; Move lever (A) forward to open grapple and rearward to close.
  • 7000 Series; Move lever (B) rearward to open grapple and forward to close.
• Electrohydraulic valve;
  • 8000 Series; Use push-buttons (C) on top of tractor multi-function control lever to open and close grapple.
  • 7000 Series; Use rocker switch (D) on top of tractor multi-function control lever to open and close the grapple.

• 50, 55, and 60 series tractor; (3-spool independent control valve) Lever (F), located below loader multi-function control lever (E), operates the grapple. Move lever forward to close grapple and rearward to open.

If opening and closing response is opposite to control movement:

• Hydraulic control valve (SCV or ICV); Reverse the hydraulic connections.
• Electrohydraulic valve; Reverse electrical connections at valve.
