Blade Operation
CAUTION:
Avoid personal injury due to sudden stops. Wear seat belt to avoid being thrown from tractor.
Help prevent bodily injury from crushing effect when releasing a tripped blade.
Use proper tool such as long pry bar to remove obstruction.
Keep hands, feet, and loose clothing away from trip mechanism and from under blade.
IMPORTANT:
Before operating blade, be sure all connections are tight and blade responds properly to controls.
NOTE:
Blade is intended for "LIGHT DUTY" use, such as snow removal and moving other light, loose material. The blade is NOT INTENDED to move large amounts of material.
To operate blade properly:
-
Position blade at an angle when removing snow or light material. This reduces rear wheel slippage and uses less power to move material.
-
Avoid hitting objects such as trees or fences. Be aware of the position of blade ends. Blade makes a wide arc when turning.
-
Be aware of the possibility of hidden objects.
-
Avoid holes, rocks, roots, and other obstructions.
-
Reduce speed and use caution if operating on slopes or slippery terrain.
-
Avoid edges of ditches and banks to reduce the possibility of loss of control or rollover.
-
If blade penetrates too deeply, raise blade or adjust skid shoe height.
-
DO NOT adjust or repair blade while tractor is running.
-
If an object is hit, STOP tractor engine and remove key before repairing, removing obstruction, or making adjustments.
-
Lower blade to ground when not in use.
-
Inspect blade regularly.
