Attaching and Detaching Attachments

causym CAUTION: Escaping fluid under pressure can penetrate the skin causing serious injury. Avoid the hazard by relieving pressure before disconnecting hydraulic or other lines. Tighten all connections before applying pressure. Search for leaks with a piece of cardboard. Protect hands and body from high pressure fluids.

If an accident occurs, see a doctor immediately. Any fluid injected into the skin must be surgically removed within a few hours or gangrene may result. Doctors unfamiliar with this type of injury should reference a knowledgeable medical source. Such information is available from Deere & Company Medical Department in Moline, Illinois, U.S.A.

1. If equipped with 4-in-1 Bucket or Boom-Mounted Front Blade with Hydraulic Angling Kit; Disconnect hydraulic hoses from attachment as follows:

a. Move control lever(s) back and forth and side-to-side (if applicable) several times to relieve system pressure. (See tractor Operator's Manual.)

b. Push and hold collar on female coupler (B).

c. Disconnect male coupler (A).

d. Release collar on female coupler.

e. Place cap (C) on hose end and insert plug (D) into female coupler.

f. Repeat Steps b-e for remaining hydraulic hose connection.

NOTE: Procedure is the same for all attachments. Bucket attachment shown.

2. Roll attachment back slightly and raise boom approximately 460 mm (18 in.) above ground level.

3. Remove quick lock pin (A) from each side of attachment.

4. Store pins in storage position (C).

5. Extend bucket cylinders until pin (B) releases from strap (F) on each side of attachment.

6. Lower loader boom and move away from attachment. Carrier (E) will release from hook (D) on each side of attachment.

7. To attach attachment, reverse the above steps.
