Install Hydraulic Hoses

IMPORTANT: To prevent premature failure of hoses, be sure there are no twists or bends in hoses and follow correct procedure for installation.

Check that all O-rings are in position. Lubricate with hydraulic oil or petroleum jelly.

NOTE: Before tightening hose fittings, make sure couplers (E) face upward when hoses are extended from loader.

1. Match color-coded dust caps on couplers (E) to hydraulic hose functions as shown in chart. Starting with top fitting (A), connect hoses to loader lines and tighten to specification.

Specification

Hose-to-Line Fittings -Torque 24 N·m (212 lb-in.)

Key Dust Cap Color Hydraulic Function
A Yellow Bucket Cylinder-Rod End
B Red or Silver Bucket Cylinder-Head End
C Green Lift Cylinder-Head End
D Black Lift Cylinder-Rod End

2. Install nylon protector sleeve (flared end first) by inserting each hose one at a time.

NOTE: Doubling of sleeve is done by attaching sleeve to hoses with tie band approximately 50 mm (2 in.) from fittings, then folding the sleeve inside itself.

3. Double sleeve approximately 150 mm (6 in.) (B) and cover fittings.

4. Install tie band (C) by lacing tie band through protective sleeve.

5. Install hose support (H) on top right-hand pivot pin:

a. Remove M16 flange nut (E) from pivot pin (F).

b. Install three M17 x 24 x 2 washers (G) and support (H) on pivot pin as shown.

IMPORTANT: Make sure hose support (H) rotates freely after reinstalling M16 flange nut (E).

c. Reinstall M16 flange nut (E) and tighten to specification.

Specification

Flange Nut -Torque 150 N·m (111 lb-ft)

6. Rotate support as shown and fasten hose bundle (J) to support using large tie band (I).

7. Install hose support:

a. Insert pin (B) through support (A).

b. Insert tie band (C) through slots in support.

IMPORTANT: Do not overtighten tie band around hose support. Hose bundle must be allowed to move freely inside the support.

Make sure tie band locking tab (E) is positioned next to pin after tightened.
