Detaching the Bucket or Attachment

causym CAUTION: Escaping fluid under pressure can penetrate the skin causing serious injury. Avoid the hazard by relieving pressure before disconnecting hydraulic or other lines. Tighten all connections before applying pressure. Search for leaks with a piece of cardboard. Protect hands and body from high pressure fluids.

If an accident occurs, see a doctor immediately. Any fluid injected into the skin must be surgically removed within a few hours or gangrene may result. Doctors unfamiliar with this type of injury should reference a knowledgeable medical source. Such information is available from Deere & Company Medical Department in Moline, Illinois, U.S.A.

If equipped with hydraulic operated attachment (grapple bucket): Disconnect hydraulic hoses as follows:

1. Manual SCV lever:

a. Shut off tractor engine and remove key.
b. Move control lever(s) back and forth and side-to-side (if applicable) several times to relieve system pressure. (See your tractor Operator's Manual.)

Electro-Hydraulic Switch:

a. Turn key to ON position. Do not start tractor engine.
b. Press switch (E) several times.
c. Turn key to OFF position.

2. Push and hold collar on female coupler (B).
3. Disconnect male coupler (C).
4. Release collar on female coupler.
5. Place cap (D) on male coupler and insert plug (A) into female coupler.
6. Repeat Steps 2-5 for remaining hydraulic hose connection.

500-Style Carrier/Attachment

1. Start tractor engine.

2. Release parking brake and/or place transmission in NEUTRAL .

NOTE: Procedure is the same for all attachments. Bucket attachment shown.

3. Roll bucket back slightly and raise boom approximately 460 mm (18 in.) above ground level.

4. Remove quick lock pin (A) from each side of attachment.

5. Store pins in storage position (B).

6. Extend bucket cylinders until pin (C) releases from strap (D) on each side of attachment.

7. Lower loader boom and move away from attachment. Carrier (E) will release from hook (F) on each side of attachment.

8. Shut off tractor engine and remove key.

Skid-Steer Carrier/Attachment

1. Start tractor engine and position machine on flat level ground. Level bucket/attachment and lower loader completely to the ground.

2. Place transmission in PARK and shut off engine.

IMPORTANT: Make sure both latch handles (A) are completely up and lock pins (B) are fully retracted.

3. Raise both latch handles (A) to the UP (unlatched) position.

4. Start tractor engine and place transmission in NEUTRAL . Slowly tilt carrier forward (extend bucket cylinders) until carrier clears bottom latches (D).

5. Place transmission in REVERSE and slowly back away from bucket/attachment.

6. Lower loader to the ground, place transmission in PARK , shut off engine and remove key.
