Tractor Ballast Requirements

IMPORTANT: When adding ballast, do not exceed maximum tire carrying capacity shown on sidewall.

NOTE: Liquid ballast is recommended in all rear tires as part of required total ballast. Fill tires 3/4 full using water. If temperature is below freezing, use a calcium chloride mixture of 1.6 kg (3.5 lb) per 4 L (1 U.S. gal) of water.

All of the following requirements are necessary to prepare the loader for operation:

• Use water or calcium chloride mixture if rear tires are ballasted. (Check tire hydroinflation charts when filling rear tires.)
• Correct amount of rear wheel weights (in addition to liquid, if required).
• Widest rear tread possible.
• Correct front wheel tread.
• Correct amount of required ballast on hitch.
