Preparing Rotary Cutter for Transport

causym CAUTION: To help prevent bodily injury or death from rotating blades when wings are raised and when transporting, shut off tractor PTO before raising wings.

1. Disengage PTO.

2. Raise wings fully.

3. Extend transport cylinder.

4. Engage tractor parking brake and/or place transmission in PARK .

5. Shut off tractor engine and remove key.

causym CAUTION: To help prevent bodily injury or death from falling wings, stay clear of wings until wing lock pins are in place.

6. Release quick-lock pin and move wing lock pin from storage position (B) to locking position (A). Reinstall quick-lock pin.

7. Repeat on opposite wing.

IMPORTANT: Reduce the possibility of machine damage due to roll-over when transporting. DO NOT transport the machine with cylinder fully extended, be sure to engage transport lock and retract cylinder.

NOTE: Cylinder stops can be stored under transport lock.

8. Position transport lock (A) on cylinder.

9. Make sure parking stand (A) and implement jack (B) (if equipped) are in storage position.

causym CAUTION: Prevent collisions between other road users, slow moving tractors with attachments or towed equipment, and self-propelled machines on public roads. Frequently check for traffic from the rear, especially in turns, and use hand signals or turn signal lights.

Use headlights, flashing warning lights, and turn signals day and night. Follow local regulations for equipment lighting and marking. Keep lighting and marking visible and in good working order. Replace or repair lighting and marking that has been damaged or lost.

10. Make sure reflectors (A, B and D) and SMV sign (C) are clean and visible.

causym CAUTION: A safety chain will help control drawn equipment should it accidentally separate from the drawbar.

Using the appropriate adapter parts, attach the chain to the tractor drawbar support or other specified anchor location. Provide only enough slack in the chain to permit turning.

11. Make sure safety chain is attached. Provide only enough slack in the chain to permit turning.

12. Start tractor engine and retract transport cylinder carefully to place weight of rotary cutter on transport lock (A).
