Using Safety Shields
Safety shields are required for any cutting operation. Front and rear chain safety shields are provided for optimum protection. Optional double row chain shields are also available to provide maximum protection. To avoid injury or death from entanglement in rotating drivelines, driveline and gear case shields must be in place when operating. Check shields daily and repair or replace any damaged parts. Check to be sure that front and rear shields (A and B), gear case shields (C) and driveline shields (D) are installed properly before operating rotary cutter. Repair or replace damaged or worn shields. (See your John Deere dealer.)

CAUTION:
To avoid injury from thrown objects when operating the machine, front and rear shields will minimize material thrown from under deck of rotary cutter.
