Replacing Blade Holder

1. Remove blades and blade pan. (See REPLACING BLADES in this section.)

2. Insert large pry bar or pipe through access hole (A) to stop blade holder from rotating.

NOTE: Blade holder is shown without pan attachment installed, the same procedure is used when pan is installed.

3. Remove cap screw and flat washer (B).

4. Tap around hub (A) with a hammer.

5. Remove blade holder using a puller (shown). If a puller is not available, strike down on blade holder ends from above through hole (B) using a large pry bar or pipe.

6. Install blade holder using washer and cap screw (A).

7. Tighten hardware to specifications. (A torque multiplier wrench is recommended.)

Specification

Blade Hardware -Torque 310 N·m (229 lb-ft)

IMPORTANT: Operating with a loose blade holder will damage the blade holder and shaft. Retighten hardware after one hour of operation and again after the first day. Check torque every 30 hours thereafter.

8. Install blade pan and blades. (See REPLACING BLADES in this section.)
