Fill Gear Case

IMPORTANT: Cutter is shipped without gear case lubricant. DO NOT operate the cutter without filling gear case with specified amount of lubricant listed below, or gear case will be damaged. (See Lubrication and Maintenance section).

1. Remove plug (A) from filler hole.

2. Fill gear case according to initial fill specifications with John Deere GL-5 GEAR LUBRICANT, or equivalent.

Specification

Oil -Capacity 0.75 L (0.8 U.S. qt)

IMPORTANT: Oil will move into lower cavity of gear case during initial operation. Check oil level after 30 minute break-in period and every 10 hours or daily afterward.

3. After approximately 30 minutes of initial operation, remove check plug (B) and check oil level. Oil should just seep from check plug hole.

4. Add oil if necessary and replace plug.
