Detach Loader

  1. CAUTION:

    To help prevent personal injury caused by a falling loader, always detach on a hard, level surface. Loader must be equipped with a bucket and parking stands.

    Remove ballast box, if equipped. (See procedure in this section.)



  2. Dump bucket approximately 40° below level as shown.

  3. Lower bucket to ground, applying slight down pressure. Do not raise tires off ground.

  4. Place transmission in PARK and shut off engine.

    A - Mast Pin (1 each side)

    B - Spring Locking Pin, Mast Pin (1 each side)

    C - Hose Support (upper)

    D - Drilled Round-Head Bolt

    E - Spring Locking Pin

    F - Hose Support (lower)

    G - Spring Locking Pin

    H - Parking Stand (1 each side)

    I - Spring Locking Pin, Parking Stand (1 each side)

    Bucket can be rolled back and forth to loosen mast pins (A).

    Remove spring locking pin (B) and mast pin (A) from loader mast on both sides.



  6. Remove spring locking pins (I) and parking stands (H). Install spring locking pins on storage brackets as shown.

  7. Align holes in bracket and top of parking stands and install mast pins (A) as shown. Fasten with spring locking pins (B).

  8. Right-Hand Side:

    1. Remove spring locking pin (E) and upper hose support (C) from drilled round-head bolt (D). Store spring locking pin on drilled round-head bolt.

    2. 5M Series and 5105ML Tractors only: Remove spring locking pin (G) and lower hose support (F) from bracket. Store spring locking pin on pin.

  9. NOTE: To prevent loader from sinking in soft ground, place boards under parking stands.

    Place transmission in NEUTRAL to allow tractor movement.

    Parking stands should not contact ground during this operation. Dump bucket if more clearance between stand and ground is required.

    Extend lift cylinders until masts (A) rotate forward and clear bushings (B) on mounting frame.

    Roll back bucket until stands contact ground. Continue to roll back bucket until loader lifts out of mounting frames as shown. Drive ahead as necessary to keep hoses slack.



  12. Place transmission in PARK and shut off engine.

    To avoid injury from escaping fluid under pressure, stop engine and relieve the pressure in the system before disconnecting or connecting hydraulic or other lines. Tighten all connections before applying pressure.

    If an accident occurs, see a doctor immediately. Any fluid injected into the skin must be surgically removed within a few hours or gangrene may result. Doctors unfamiliar with this type of injury should reference a knowledgeable medical source. Such information is available from Deere & Company Medical Department in Moline, Illinois, U.S.A.

    Move control lever in all directions several times to relieve hydraulic pressure. (See your tractor Operator's Manual.)

    A - Loader Hoses

    Loader hoses-to-mid-mount valve:

    1. Disconnect hoses (A) from valve.

    2. Place caps on hoses and plugs in couplers.

    Single-Lever ICV (Option)

    A - Loader Hoses

    If equipped with Single Lever ICV:

    1. Disconnect hoses (A) from valve.

    2. Place caps on hoses and plugs in couplers.

    C - Knob

    Disconnect Multicoupler (5M Series and 5105ML tractors, if equipped):

    1. Push in red knob (C) and rotate lever (A) rearward to disengage pins and coupler halves.

    2. Remove loader coupler half (B) from tractor coupler and lay on lift cylinder as shown. Do not place hoses on ground.



    3. IMPORTANT:

      A - Lever

      B - Cover

      Avoid damage from contact with tractor fender or wheel. Lever (A) must be in the locked (UP) position. Cover (B) must also be lowered to protect connection.

      Rotate lever (A) forward until it locks in UP position as shown.

    4. Lower cover (B).



  17. Place transmission in REVERSE. Move tractor away from loader.
