Keep Service Area Clean

To help prevent personal injury, keep the service area clean and dry. Wet or oily floors are slippery. Wet spots can be dangerous when working with electrical equipment.

Be sure all electrical outlets and tools are properly grounded.

Use adequate light for the job at hand.

Never lubricate or service machine when it is moving. Keep hands, feet and clothing away from power-driven parts. Disengage all power and operate controls to relieve pressure.

Securely support any machine elements that must be raised for service work.

Understand service procedure before doing work.

Keep all parts in good condition and properly installed. Fix any damage immediately. Replace worn or broken parts. Remove buildup of grease, oil, or debris.

Disconnect battery ground cable (—) before doing any welding on machine.
