A - Pin (1 each side)

B - Saddle (1 each side)

DO NOT allow bystanders nearby while attaching loader.

To prevent serious injury, allow only the operator to attach loader.

  1. Center tractor between loader masts, stopping tractor when both mounting frame saddles (B) are positioned under pins (A) on loader masts.

  2. CAUTION:

    X9811-UN-23AUG88

Escaping fluid under pressure can penetrate the skin causing serious injury. Avoid the hazard by relieving pressure before disconnecting hydraulic or other lines.

If an accident occurs, see a doctor immediately. Information is available from Deere & Company Medical Department in Moline, Illinois, U.S.A.

To prevent personal injury caused by unexpected movement, lower loader to ground before relieving pressure.

Tractors with SCV (finger pad control) operated loader: With engine running, quickly move loader control levers to FLOAT, one at a time for at least 1 minute.

  3. CAUTION: Lock out SCV control levers before detaching loader to prevent loader movement and possible personal injury.

Lock out SCV control levers. (See procedure in Controls section.)

  4. Place transmission in PARK and shut off engine.

    Connect hydraulics using multicoupler:

    1. Relieve pressure in hydraulic system: Shut off engine. Turn key to ON position. Do not start tractor engine. Move loader control lever in all directions several times. (See your tractor operator’s manual for specific procedures about relieving hydraulic pressure.)

    2. Push knob (B) IN and rotate handle (C) upward.

    3. Lift cover (A) and insert loader coupler (D), with chamfered edge (E) toward cover, onto tractor coupler (H). Make sure locating pins (F) on loader coupler fit into corresponding holes (G) in tractor coupler.

    4. Rotate handle downward to engage pins (I) and lock coupler halves together.

      B - Valve Handle

      C - Hose Fitting

      D - Shut-Off Valve

      E - Fitting

      F - Angle, 30—40 Degrees

On some tractors, shut-off valve handle (B) may contact tractor exhaust shroud (A) when valve is closed. If this is the case, reposition of valve is necessary.

      Reposition shut-off valve, if necessary:

      1. Lower loader to ground and shut off tractor engine.
      2. Relieve pressure in hydraulic system: Turn key to ON position. Do not start tractor engine. Move loader control lever in all directions several times. (See your tractor operator’s manual for specific procedures about relieving hydraulic pressure.)
      3. Slightly loosen fittings (C and E).
      4. Turn shut-off valve (D) 30—40 degrees (F), as shown.
      5. Rotate valve handle (B) to verify there is adequate clearance between handle and exhaust shroud (A) and adjacent fittings. Reposition valve, if necessary.
      6. Tighten fittings to specification.

    Mid-Mount Couplers

    A - Coupler, Female

    B - Coupler, Male

    C - Cap

    D - Plug

Avoid personal injury caused by unexpected loader movement. Hose connections must be correct for loader to respond as expected when control lever is moved.

IMPORTANT: Before connecting coupler halves make sure that fittings are free of dirt and debris. Verify hoses are not twisted or kinked.

NOTE: Hose connections have color-coded caps and plugs. (If caps and plugs are missing, see Identify Hose Connections in the Service section.)

    Connect hydraulics using mid-mount couplers:

    1. Push and hold collar on female coupler (A).

    2. Match color-coded cap on hose end with same color-coded plug on the coupler. Insert hydraulic hose with male coupler (B) into female coupler.

    3. Release collar on female coupler.

    4. Connect color-coded cap (C) and plug (D) together.

    5. Repeat connections for all couplers.

  14. On both sides of loader install mast pins (C):

    1. Push in mast pin and rotate handle (G) upward until knob locks into mast.

    2. To make sure knob (J) is securely locked in top hole in mast, pull on pin handle while attempting to rotate downward. (Knob is locked if handle does not move.)

  15. IMPORTANT: To avoid damaging the hoses by excess contact between the hose bundles and the exhaust, pull the hose bundle so that the hoses loop down in between the hose bracket and boom.
