Escaping fluid under pressure can penetrate the skin causing serious injury. Avoid the hazard by relieving pressure before disconnecting hydraulic or other lines. Tighten all connections before applying pressure. Search for leaks with a piece of cardboard. Protect hands and body from high pressure fluids.

If an accident occurs, see a doctor immediately. Any fluid injected into the skin must be surgically removed within a few hours or gangrene may result. Doctors unfamiliar with this type of injury should reference a knowledgeable medical source. Such information is available from Deere & Company Medical Department in Moline, Illinois, U.S.A.

IMPORTANT: Before connecting coupler halves make sure that fittings are free of dirt and debris.

If equipped with hydraulic operated attachment (grapple bucket): Connect hydraulic hoses as follows:

  1. Shut off tractor engine and remove key.
  2. Move control lever(s) back and forth and side-to-side (if applicable) several times to relieve system pressure. (See your tractor Operator's Manual.)
  3. Push and hold collar on female coupler (B).
  4. Insert male coupler (A).
  5. Release collar on female coupler.
  6. Connect cap (D) and plug (C) together.
  7. Repeat Steps 3—6 for remaining hydraulic hose connection.
