Fixed-Tine Forklift Shown

To help prevent bodily injury or death from a bale falling on the operator, do not handle round bales with forklift.

To help prevent bodily injury or death from a falling pallet box, bin, crate or hamper, DO NOT handle stacked pallet boxes if backstop does not contact top pallet box.

  1. Approach load so that weight will be centered between fork tines. The heaviest side should be closest to fork frame and not near tips of fork tines.

  2. Before lifting load, make certain fork tines are completely under load and level.

  3. CAUTION: If load appears unstable, lower and reposition tines to achieve full stability.

Lift load slightly to make sure load is stable.

  4. IMPORTANT: During load handling:

    • Keep fork tines level.
    • Stop and start tractor gradually.
    • Slow down before turning and avoid any obstacles, bumps or holes.
    • Check load frequently to ensure stability.

Raise load to MINIMUM height required for the terrain.
