Slow or jerky operation

Cold hydraulic oil.

Run engine and cycle loader.

Low hydraulic oil level.

Selective control valve output set low.

Increase to fastest rate. (See your tractor Operator's Manual.)
 

Engine speed too slow.

Increase engine speed.
 

Internal cylinder leakage.

Test cylinders for internal leaks. Install cylinder repair kit. (See your John Deere dealer or qualified service provider.)
 

Faulty tractor hydraulic system.

See your tractor Operator's Manual or your John Deere dealer or qualified service provider.
 

Faulty load sensing signal.

See your John Deere dealer or qualified service provider.
 

”Flow checking” or faulty quick coupler.

Replace coupler. (See your John Deere dealer or qualified service provider.)
 

Overloading bucket or attachment.

Reduce load. See how lift capacity is determined in Specifications section.
 

Shut off valve near multicoupler is partially closed.

Turn handle of shut off valve counterclockwise to open position.

Oil leaks

Loose connections.

Tighten fittings.
 

Defective seal in plug-in type fittings located inside torque tube.

Inspect fittings for leaks. Replace O-rings and seals if necessary. (See your John Deere dealer or qualified service provider.)
 

External cylinder leakage.

Install cylinder repair kit. See your John Deere dealer or qualified service provider.

Lack of lift capacity

Load is greater than loader lift capacity.

See how lift capacity is determined in Specifications section.
 

Internal lift cylinder leakage.

Test cylinders for internal leaks. Install cylinder repair kit. (See your John Deere dealer or qualified service provider.)

Heavily loaded loader lowers when control is moved to raise position.

Control valve not working properly.

Repair control valve. (See your John Deere dealer or qualified service provider.)

Heavily loaded bucket or attachment dumps when control is moved to roll back position.

Control valve not working properly.

Repair control valve. (See your John Deere dealer or qualified service provider.)

Loader operation does not correspond with multi-function lever movement.

Hydraulic hoses connected wrong.

Correct hose connections. (See IDENTIFY HOSE CONNECTIONS in Service section.)
 

Defective quick coupler.

Replace coupler. (See your John Deere dealer or qualified service provider.)

Loader settles from raised position.

Internal leak in the control valve or cylinder.

Test for leaks. Install repair kit. (See your John Deere dealer or qualified service provider.)
 

Internal leak in multicoupler.

Repair or replace multicoupler. (See your John Deere dealer or qualified service provider.)
 

Defective seal in plug-in type fittings located inside torque tube.
