Help prevent bodily injury from accidental lowering of loader. Do not perform service in the front of the tractor with loader elevated and unsupported. Before lubricating or servicing the loader or tractor, perform the following:
  1. Engage parking brake and place transmission in PARK.
  2. Lower loader to ground.
  3. Shut off engine and remove key.
  4. Relieve hydraulic system pressure. (See procedure in this Operator's Manual.)

Normally, access to engine compartment and front of tractor can be made with bucket flat on ground. However, due to tractor size and tire variations, it can be necessary to do one of the following:

  • If equipped with a bucket: Dump bucket fully and lower loader to ground.
  • If equipped with an attachment: Raise loader and place safety stands under the frame of attachment. Lower attachment on stands, relieve hydraulic pressure and ensure that the weight of loader is being supported.
  • If not equipped with an attachment: Raise loader and place safety stands under "boom arms". Lower loader on stands, relieve hydraulic pressure and ensure that the weight of loader is being supported.
