Flow Sensor Calibration
The number of pulses per liter of the flow sensor (flow rate meter) must be calibrated if a flow sensor is fitted. This is best performed as follows:
-
Program a default value for the number of pulses per liter (e.g. 625)
-
As low simulation speed, program a speed of e.g. 6 km/h
-
In the spray volume table, read the nozzle output (l/min) belonging to the target application rate in l/ha (e.g. 300 l/ha) and driving speed (e.g. 6 km/h). In this example, the nozzle flow rate will be 1.5 l/min
-
Activate the simulation speed
-
Let the machine spray with all sections opened until exactly 300 l/ha appears on the display (can be set both manually and automatically)
-
Now measure the output of a few nozzles with the aid of a stop watch and a measuring jug for one minute (preferably one nozzle behind the machine, one in the centre of the spray boom and one at the end of the spray boom)
-
Calculate the average nozzle output in l/min (let's assume this is 1.44 l/min)
-
The correct flow sensor pulse value is:
|
|
| (Nozzle output acc. to table / Average nozz. output measured) x Default pulse value flow sensor |
|
The correct pulse value in the example is:
| (1.50 / 1.44) x 625 = 651 |
