In the case of manual spraying, the spraying pressure must be adjusted as follows in order to spray a specific quantity in liters/hectare:
1.
In the spray volume table (see "Adjusting the nozzle output" in this section), find the output per nozzle in l/min, at the desired application rate per hectare and the driving speed in km/h, and divide this value by 2 (on account of the nozzle spacing of 25 cm).
2.
Find the spraying pressure in the table with which this output is obtained for the fitted metering disc. Disc CP4916-40 is the standard disc.
3.
Multiply the spraying pressure found with the density of the liquid (for AHL 1.28 kg/l). Determine the density by weighing exactly 1 liter.
4.
Determine the pressure loss (see "Adjusting the nozzle output" in this section) between pressure

gauge and the pressure piece on the drop hose with the liquid fertilizer. The pressure loss is also dependent on the liquid viscosity.
When working with a spraying computer, the liquid output can be set to working with liquid fertilizers as described in the relevant section. If the computer works with a pressure sensor, the density correction factor must be programmed and activated. In addition, the nozzle spacing must be set to 25 cm. If the computer works with a flow sensor, no correction is necessary for the application rate control, but necessary for displaying the correct (calculated) liquid pressure.
