Adjusting The Spray Boom Transport Position

The transport height of the spray boom and upward angle can be adjusted in order to prevent interference between the tractor cab and the spray boom during transport. The steel cables (left and right) between the spray boom arms (A) and the centre frame can be connected in three different slots, to allow a higher or lower transport position of the spray boom. When the spray boom is folded and supported by the boom support rolls, the steel cables may not be tensioned. Only during the boom folding action, the steel cable may be under tension. When the steel cable connection is changed, the position of the boom supports with rolls should also be adjusted. This can be done by means of the retractable boom supports (B) which can be fixed into different slots and are secured with a bolt and nut.

It may be necessary to also adjust the position of the support rod (C) on the spray boom. The support rods are fixed to the spray boom arms with two brackets. Boom transport lock switch (D) needs to switch off the hydraulic height adjustment when the boom is placed in the required transport position. This allows to determine the rear height and angle of the spray boom arms when folded in. When needed, the boom transport bracket can be adjusted with two hex nuts at the bracket. Place the bracket in the position which will lock the boom arms in the transport position to prevent from moving out during transport.
