Coupling to the Tractor

The machine must be coupled to the tractor to enable a flat (water level) position of the sprayer behind the tractor.

Sprayers with lower linkage fixed drawbar

With the lower linkage drawbar, the height of the tow eye above ground level is approx. 50 cm (depending on type of tow eye) with 270/95R48 tires, if the sprayer is level. This height can be reduced by fitting one or more adapter plates between the tow eye and the drawbar. These adapter plates can be ordered separately and are available with 10 or 20 mm thickness (part number WZ33180836 respectively WZ33180828). The machine coupling must be secured.

Sprayers with upper linkage fixed drawbar

With the steering drawbar set in the upper linkage position, the maximum height of the tow eye is approx. 98 cm with 270/95R48 tires, if the sprayer is level. The height of the tow eye can be set in two positions.

1. The tow eye (A) can be fitted to the drawbar, in two positions, which allows a height difference of 27.5 mm.

Adjustment of steering drawbar

With the steering drawbar, the sprayer can be connected to the tractor in a low position (A) or in a high position (B). For this purpose, the drawbar can be inverted. When the drawbar is in the low position the drawbar adjusting support (D) can also be inverted and set according to the requirements. The tow eye at the upper linkage position can be adjusted in two positions.

The height of the tow eye in the low position of the drawbar can be set in different positions in as follows.

Height adjustment, low position

When the drawbar is in the low position, the adjusting support (B) can be inverted. This allows to set the tow eye (A) in four different positions:

1. When the drawbar adjusting support (B) is placed in the lowest position, the tow eye (A) can be fitted in two positions, which allows a height difference of + 27.5 mm.
2. When the drawbar adjusting support (B) is inverted, the tow eye (A) can also be fitted in two positions. This allows a height difference compared to the previous settings of + 57.5 mm or + 85 mm.

With the steering drawbar set in the lower linkage position, the minimum height of the tow eye is approx. 50 cm with 270/95R48 tires, if the sprayer is level.

Height adjustment, upper position

With the steering drawbar set in the upper linkage position, the maximum height of the tow eye is approx. 98 cm with 270/95R48 tires, if the sprayer is level. The height of the tow eye can be set in two positions, similar as described above, which allows a height difference of + 27.5 mm.

When the drawbar adjusting support is inverted, the pivoting plate (D) needs to be repositioned as well. This can be done by unscrewing the sensor nuts (E) and removing caps and bolts (F). The pivoting plate (D) can now be removed. By removing the bolts (C), the drawbar adjusting support (B) can be removed and inverted. For the correct length refer to "Steering Drawbar Pivot" in the section "Preparing the Tractor".

causym CAUTION: Do not adjust the tow eye or the drawbar adjusting support into a position where not all 8 bolts are used.

Inverting the steering drawbar

causym CAUTION: When the drawbar is inverted, the boom needs to be in transport position (folded in). Place the machine in a stable and secure position. Block the wheels to prevent the machine from rolling.

If required the drawbar of the machine can be inverted. This can be done as described below:

1. Place supports on both sides at position (I).

2. Remove the tow eye (A).

3. Remove pivoting plate (D) and sensors (E) by removing bolts (F).

4. Remove both centering sensors (O).

5. Remove bolts (C) on both sides.

6. Remove drawbar adjusting support (B).

7. Remove transport lock (G).

8. Remove locking pin(s) of the hydraulic steering cylinder(s) (M).

9. Secure the drawbar.

10. Remove bolts (K) at both sides.

11. Remove the complete drawbar (H) with the hinge point (L) from the main frame (P).

12. Place the drawbar in a stable position.

13. Remove securing bolt pin at drawbar hinge point (N).

14. Remove the pin (J) out of the hinge point (L).

15. Remove the drawbar (H) from the hinge point.

16. Invert the drawbar in the hinge point (L).

17. Place the pin back in position and secure the pin with bolt (N).

18. Mount the inverted drawbar (H) with hinge point (L) to the main frame (P).

19. Mount all 6 bolts (K). Also refer to "Metric Bolt and Cap Screw Torque Values" in the section "Maintenance" for the correct torque.

20. Mount locking pin(s) on the hydraulic steering cylinder(s) (M).

21. Place transport lock (G) back into position.

22. Place drawbar adjusting support (B) with bolts (C). Also refer to "Metric Bolt and Cap Screw Torque

Values" in the section "Maintenance" for the correct torque. Also refer to "Steering Drawbar Pivot" in the section "Preparing the Tractor" to determine the correct length.

23. Place both centering sensors (O) back into position. Also refer to "Adjusting the Center Position of the Steering drawbar" in the section "Adjustments".

24. Mount the tow eye (A), also refer to "Metric Bolt and Cap Screw Torque Values" in the section "Maintenance" for the correct torque and to "Steering Drawbar Pivot" in the section "Preparing the Tractor" to determine the correct length.

25. Mount pivoting plate (D) and sensors (E) with bolts (F). Also refer to "Adjusting the Automatic Tracking System With Steering Drawbar" in the section "Adjustments" and to "Lower Linkage Steering Drawbar Automatic Tracking System Assembly" or "Upper Linkage Steering Drawbar Automatic Tracking System Assembly" in the section "Preparing the tractor".

26. When the tractor is connected, the supports underneath the main frame must be removed from position (I).
