Steering Drawbar Pivot

Machines with a steering drawbar and automatic tracking system (B) are tracking accurately if the drawbar pivot is exactly halfway between the tractor rear axle and the sprayer axle (H1 = H2 = 2439 mm), with an acceptable tolerance of plus or minus 50 mm. To achieve this, the distance between the pivot of the drawbar and the rear axle of the tractor must be 2439 mm, (+/- 50 mm). With the steering drawbar, the horizontal distance of the drawbar pivot to the tow eye is adjustable. This drawbar length can be adjusted by repositioning the front end of the drawbar with tow eye which can be fixed into the drawbar with 8 bolts (C) at different positions (adjustment holes). In this way, the length of the drawbar can be changed up to 200 mm.

Adjust drawbar length for accurate trailing

Adjust the distance between the drawbar pivot and the tow eye depending on the type of tractor (distance between rear axle and tow hook) being used for spraying. The length of the drawbar plus the distance from the tow hook to the rear axle of the tractor should be as close as possible to 2439 mm (+/- 50 mm). A well-fitting draw pin is essential for the proper functioning of the automatic tracking system.

The following table shows different drawbar length adjustments (B) matching best with different tractor tow hook positions (A) in order to ensure accurate trailing (H1 = 2439 +/- 50 mm).
