Adjusting The Automatic Tracking System With Universal Drawbar
After the crop sprayer has been connected (see section "Coupling and Uncoupling of the Sprayer") the procedure below must be followed to adjust the automatic tracking system on the universal drawbar:
-
Disconnect the steering rod with pin joints from the tractor.
-
Manually position the drawbar at right angles to the axle of the sprayer.
-
Move the tractor in front of the sprayer, thus putting the drawbar at right angles to the rear axle of the tractor as well.
-
The pivoting steering actuator (A) with pin joints must now be attached to the tractor by fixing it to the separate sleeve with pivot. The steering rod (threaded rod C) must be cut to the correct length for this purpose.
-
The sensors (B) are adjustable in the slotted holes. Their adjustment can be checked by means of the LEDs on the sensors when the control box is switched on. The LEDs on the sensors must not be ON if the drawbar is in straight line behind the tractor. However, as soon as the pivoting steering actuator moves slightly forward or backward, the front or rear LED must immediately light up. The distance in height between the sensors and the pivot plate must be 5-6 mm
-
Manually drive out the drawbar completely to the left. If the operation is set to auto, the drawbar should now automatically position itself at right angles to the rear axle.
-
Manually drive out the drawbar completely to the right. If the operation is set to auto, the drawbar should again automatically position itself at right angles to the rear axle.
The steering cylinder is standard fitted with fixed restrictors with a diameter of 1.0 mm on the rod side of the cylinder and a diameter of 1.2 mm on the piston side of the cylinder. The restrictors have been set to an average driving speed during turning of 4- 6 km/h. When the restrictors are increased, the system may turn unstable, because the cylinder operates at too large steps and as a result the "zero point" is never reached.
