Changing Hydraulic Oil (3220 and 3420)

The hydraulic oil tank (A) is located underneath the fuel tank.

Change hydraulic oil as follows:

1. Run the engine and operate the hydraulics to warm the oil.

2. Ensure all cylinders are fully retracted. Apply the parking brake and shut off engine.

causym CAUTION: Before removing drain plug (B), release any pressure in the hydraulic oil tank by slowly unscrewing tank filler cap.

IMPORTANT: Before removing drain plug (B) ensure a suitable container is placed on the ground to catch the full capacity of oil in the tank. When removing drain plug, be sure to stand to one side to avoid oil which will spill from the hole.

3. Drain the tank by removing plug (B).

4. Flush out the tank with clean hydraulic oil taking extreme care to remove all dirt and foreign matter.

5. Re-install drain plug (B).

6. Fill the system with correct oil (see Section "Fuel, Lubricants, Coolant and Capacities").

Specification

Hydraulic System -Capacity 140 liters (37 US. gal.)
Hydraulic Oil Tank -Capacity 80 liters (21 US. gal.)

7. Run the engine to circulate the oil. Operate the hydraulic controls to purge any air from the system.

8. Stop the engine and top up the tank as required.
