Starting the Engine
CAUTION:
Never operate the engine in a closed building. Make sure there is plenty of ventilation.
Danger of asphyxiation!
Use the seat belt whenever you operate the machine.
1.
Make sure that battery main switch (A) is in ON position, as shown.
2.
Fasten seat belt.
3.
Apply parking brake (B).
4.
Set the FNR lever (C) to neutral position.
5.
On machines with Synchro-Shuttle transmission, set gear shift lever (D) to neutral.
6.
Depress the accelerator (E) approximately one third through its travel.
CAUTION:
Sound horn before starting engine to clear people away from the machine.

Sound horn and turn key in main switch (F) clockwise to end position. Release key as soon as engine starts. Check that the warning lights go out.
Do not operate starting motor for more than 20 seconds at a time. Turn main switch key to "off" position and wait at least one minute before trying again.
Do not adjust accelerator. The electronic fuel injection pump is set at a higher slow idle (1050 rpm) until coolant temperature reaches 20°C (68°F).
