Calibration and Diagnosis - Automatic Kernel Processor Clearance Adjustment
For correct functionality of the automatic kernel processor adjust process, the system has to be calibrated.
To calibrate whether a kernel processor is installed or not installed use the following address:
-
Kernel processor control - Address SPF 104, seventh digit
The calibration of the automatic kernel processor adjust function is implemented by entering the initial clearance in an on-board diagnostic address. The initial clearance is a reference value for the kernel processor clearance calculation and the default value for the initial clearance is 1 mm (0.039 in.).
To calibrate a kernel processor initial clearance use the following address:
-
Kernel processor initial clearance - Address SPF 106
IMPORTANT:
The system needs to be recalibrated whenever the rolls were manually adjusted and the clearance cannot be set to 1 mm (0.039 in.) for some reason. In this state, define a new value for the initial clearance which represents the actual clearance width manually set.
Furthermore the on-board diagnostic provides status information in diagnostic addresses for the automatic kernel processor adjust mode switch, the kernel processor adjust mode abort switch and the outputs that control the kernel processor motors.
To calibrate manual control of the kernel processor clearance with input control knob use the following address:
-
Control the kernel processor clearance with input control knob - Address SPF 101
