Installing the Power Chute on the Kernel Processor

causym CAUTION: Before adjusting the machine or performing service work, always switch off all drives, shut off the engine and wait until all moving parts have come to a stop.

Preparations

If the kernel processor is in its operating position, you will have to take the following steps before installing the power chute:

1. Move adapter frame of feed roll housing into vertical position.

2. Detach service cover / feed plate (A) from feed channel.

3. Remove drive belts (B) and press the tensioning roll as far down as it will go.

Installation

causym CAUTION: The power chutes weighs approx. 51 kg (112.4 lb). Use a suitable heavy-duty hoist.

1. Engage the attaching straps (A) at the rear of the power chute in the locating pins on the kernel processor, then use latches (B) and (C) to secure the power chute to the kernel processor.

2. Use the chain hoist already on the forage harvester to move the power chute to its operating position, i.e. let the kernel processor engage in its "parked" position.

3. Engage the power chute's service cover / feed plate (A), close it and lock it, see "Cutterhead Service Cover / Feed Plate", Cutterhead, Drives, Guards, Covers" section.

4. Install and align the drive belts (see "Drive Belt" in this section).

5. When using the automatic knife sharpening, automatic stationary knife adjust or manually reverse functions of the cutterhead see "Locking Device - Kernel Processor / Power Chute Main Drive (Four-Speed LOC Only)" in Kernel Processor or Power Chute sections.
