Draining Fuel/Water Separator, John Deere POWERTECH® 8.1 L Engine

When fuel / separator bowl senses water in the fuel system a Diagnostic Trouble Code will be displayed.

If Diagnostic Trouble Code appears (ECU 000097.31 - Water in Fuel Detected) drain fuel / water separator bowl using drain valve (B) and reset Diagnostic Trouble Code.

Loosen water drain (B) all the way so that the valve opens to the hold tabs (C) and drain water and debris as needed.
