Bleeding Fuel System, John Deere POWERTECH® 12.5 L Engine
Bleed the fuel system:
-
After every filter change
-
Whenever the fuel tank has run dry
-
After repair work on the fuel system
-
If the engine has been idle for a longer period
Whenever the fuel system has been opened up for service (lines disconnected or filters removed), it will be necessary to bleed air from the system.
Drain water and contaminants from clear water separator sediment bowl.
Loosen fuel filter outlet line (A).
Pump primer (B) on primary filter until a steady flow of fuel (without bubbles) comes out of connection.
Continue pumping hand primer and simultaneously tighten outlet line to specification. Do not overtighten.
