Adjusting Stationary Knife

CAUTION: To avoid bodily injury, always stand to the side of machine when adjusting stationary knife.

Using a 3/4-in. socket wrench, alternately turn adjusting spindles (B) on right-hand and left-hand side.

Turn adjusting spindle clockwise three turns maximum or until a "tick" is heard.

As soon as a "tick" is heard, move adjusting spindle counterclockwise for several turns until the tick just disappears.

Turn spindle an additional one-half turn counterclockwise and finally one-half turn clockwise to obtain proper clearance.

Disengage cutterhead by means of switch (A).

Stop engine.

IMPORTANT: If force required to rotate stationary knife adjusting device increases, remove stationary knife for cleaning (see "Removing Stationary Knife").
